I have a county jail 10-15 blocks from me. Terrorists in a jail cell is the same as a Rapist, a Killer, or a Drunk Driver in a jail cell. I don't know who's there now and I don't care. For all I know there could be 100 terrorists in there right now. When did you fox guys become so scared of everything? I guess you guys would rather have terrorists out on the street then in a jail cell in YOUR back yard. Man up, you republicans are full of big tough talk but when it comes time to do something with a SLIVER of risk to keep your country safe you freak out. Didn't Texas house hundreds of German POW's during WW2? Where did your back-bone go to republicans?
Put them in my town, the jails will hold them just like anybody else. And if they DID escape and try to hurt me or my family I will defend myself just fine..... |

Found the post Jake left when Talon quit Fangboy....He told me he cried....
I miss you Jake, I miss your Mom, your Sister, your Dad.....You guys were better to us then we deserved.....
Your family deserved better then losing your mom and then you with in a few years....
I owe the fact that I can still go up and play in a band to this day to the Popkin family and their kindness and friendship.
BTW Jake....I think you would have dug the new band.... and the new Fangboy stuff....You were cool like that! |

This year I've been busy!
Last Wednesday I saved a busload of nuns in Angola (326 points). In March I invaded Iraq, broke it, and couldn't glue it back together before Mom got home (-1012 points). In April I gave ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) xxxt_walxxx a wet willie, then I took it back (-5 points). In January I put gum in tellura's hair (-12 points). Last Sunday I didn't flush (-1 points).
Overall, I've been naughty (-704 points). For Christmas I deserve a spanking!

More band talk led to me thinking of band goals for 2009...
Priority Goals:
Kill Junkies : New cd, at least a shirt to sell, and a live video to sell on dvd.
Those are the ones that should be very doable. 2 out of the 3 are in the works as I write this. A side goal that may take more work is I would like us to open for at least 2 signed acts that are of similar style to us.
Secondary Goals (can happen if we have the time):
Fangboy : Put together an 2 cd anthology of all the old songs. Record a cd of MOSTLY new material for release.
Extra Credit (not impossible but will take more luck and effort then the above) :
Lunitari: Write new songs with Jess on vocals, re-record all of the original songs I did, put that out on cd. Put together live band, play at least one show.
Kill Junkies: Legit music video (not live)
Fangboy: Write a history of Fangboy with picture retrospective for release with the cd.
Super Bonus Points, Dude Your Fucking Dreaming Goals:
Get any of the bands signed to any label that will pay for said band to record again....
Get any of the bands on as opening act for a tour with a signed band/bands that we are paid for and DO NOT HAVE TO BOOK OURSELVES!
So yeah..... lets hope I don't read this post next year and get depressed at how little on this list I was able to make happen.... |

Lots of band talk today....
I think we are starting to head into un-charted waters. I think the basis of our sound has been there since before Fangboy broke up to be honest. Chris and I were writing stuff that was progressively MORE then Fangboy stuff that became Fangboy stuff when Talon would put his one or two drum beats to it. But little bits at a time we have been on our way to becoming a different beast. The Kill Junkies in my opinion have had a sound that I think has been solid and good for years now but I don't think we ever really had our own "voice". We are talking about a-lot of little changes here and there, nothing huge just more fleshing out what has always been there waiting to come out. I think these little changes could be the thing that makes us stand out as something different and special in a very different way then Fangboy was different and special.
Chris and I have learned a-lot over the last decade plus of playing together and every time have made a leap forward in what we can do and what we WANT to do it has paid off in music that I like making. The leap we made after the first Fangboy cd resulted in a tighter sound, the next leap we made when we started recording our own stuff resulted in better song writing. The next leap was when we stopped being afraid to really sing now and then. The next when Talon left and we were free to be in multiple bands, try different stuff, that lead to a Kill Junkies set that was chalk full of good new songs. The leap of adding new members has paid off in new and fuller sounds (I want everyone to hear the new song it is SO HUGE). Who knows where this next leap will take us, next year could be a very interesting year for the band.... |

Well you can't say no one is at least curious about the new Guns and Roses cd. They put it up in full on their myspace this morning and already have over 1.8 MILLION plays today.
I'm four songs in and it good so far..... not great, but not awful for sure! Song 3 "Better" is downright good!
Those who know me know that I have a theory on why this is coming out now.
I think that the principal members of the original G&R have already agreed on a reunion tour for either summer 09 or 2010. Minus Addler, homeboy is a mess, he could spend the next decade with Dr. Drew and I still don't think he could play a 3 hour show 4-6 days a week for months on end. Axl HAD to release this album in order to move on, I mean 16 fucking years!... I KNOW my ego would force me to release it if I were him before I could do a reunion tour. As big as my ego is/can be I don't think it comes close to Axl Rose size.
Here is where I get crazy.... I think that the reunion will be WAY more then about money.... I think these guys really MISS each other. Listen to the love fest back and forth from all sides in interviews. I don't think they are that good of actors. I think that they all have grown up a bit and miss jamming in one of the greatest rock bands of all times.... For you musicians out there think of how much FUN it can be to play any song you have written and enjoy with any given band you have been in. Now imagine that song is lets say MR. FUCKING BROWNSTONE! You would have to miss that, and if you don't then you don't have a soul.
So good luck with the new album Axl! When you get it out of your system then get the reunion tour up and going and I'll see you there! |

Last night was good!! We were a little sloppy but all in all it seemed like everyone was having a good time and dug the set....
One more to go tonight! Then on to next week!
On the personal side I hate to admit it but I miss Talon being around this time of year. We had some really good Halloween's in the old Fangboy days and it is a damn shame he doesn't want anything to do with our shared history in or outside of the band.
I have been starting the process of going over the old Fangboy tapes and cd's. I think we may actually get together a "Fang-ology" at one point in the very near future. If your out there in Internet land Talon and want to be involved the door is and always will be open....
I am proud of all we did. We were and are still to this day IMO something special. I know I'm not the only one who feels that way. I hear it anytime I talk to someone who was around for the "old days".
So that's it for now... MISFITS KARAOKE TONIGHT!!! |
